The Dodo Best Dog Day Ever

Learn More

The Dodo, one of the top digital media animal-focused platforms on the internet with over 2.1 billion total monthly video views, wanted to create a bark-worthy event that celebrated man’s best friend. On June 9, 2018, over 1,400 pups and their partners made their way to Brookfield Place for an experiential journey.

It may have been one of the cutest events ever held in lower Manhattan, as we transformed the asphalt streets into a bow-wow friendly backyard. Four-legged friends learned a few new tricks as they competed in obstacle courses and dove into a brightly colored ball pit posing for portraits with their humans. Pups cooled off in dog-and-bone shaped pools where whimsical splash slo-mos were captured on Galaxy S9 phones. Groomers were on hand, offering doggie blowouts and trims, prepping pups for costumed portraits. Doggie celebrities Doug the Pug and Winston the Corgi sniffed out the competition and snapped pictures with guests.

Shake Shack created the Pooch-ini, a frozen vanilla custard dessert fit for both dogs and humans. Guests scored awesome swag including a branded neck scarf, poop bag dispenser, and a personalized bone-shaped dog tag. Best yet, there were three animal rescue shelters on hand to help want-to-be dog owners find a new best friend.

This FOMO-inducing event had a waitlist of 3,000 which was 3x capacity. Over 94% of attendees reported a positive experience with 88% of attendees were willing to recommend future events.
