Case Study

Marriott Rockefeller Center

Learn More

How do you celebrate the formation of the largest hotel company in the world? You create a spectacular pop-up activation, fill it with entertainment, games, and prizes – then invite guests and the media to come and explore.

productionglue partnered up to take over Rockefeller Center for a one-day extravaganza that allowed consumers to compete for unbelievable prizes that included luxury trips to exotic destinations. Using the courtyard as a canvas – wasn’t, we created a 4,000 square foot interactive map of the world that used oversized map pins to indicate all of the 3,400 combined Starwood and Marriott properties around the globe. Then it was game on as Marriott, SPG, and Ritz-Carlton Rewards members stepped up to hotel locations on the map to tap their keycards. RFID technology turned these map pins into an exhilarating interactive experience, lighting upon contact for instant wins, and entering guests into sweepstakes to receive free stays, travel packages, and prizes from Marriott’s 30 brands.

Best of all, the Today Show Anchors kicked-off the day with a live broadcast from the courtyard prior to opening up the activation to the thousands of eager guests who queued to explore Marriott’s new offerings.

Not only was this event featured on the Today Show, it drove Marriott’s loyalty registration through the roof, and earned media coverage in noted publications that included Adweek and Travel Weekly.
