Case Study

Gitano NYC

Learn More

Gitano was looking for a team to transform a 24,000 square-foot urban vacant lot into a custom-designed pop-up restaurant and tropical oasis worthy of NYC’s top tastemakers. Their vision was to bring a bit of Tulum to SOHO, where fashionistas could sip margaritas under the stars. This was no small feat, requiring a team of experts with robust knowledge of engineering and permitting.

We were able to help Gitano Tulum create a stunning, fully functional, outdoor restaurant and lounge, spacious enough to seat 440 guests. A dramatic entryway beckoned guests in, surrounded by lush tropical plants that evoked a jungle landscape. Wooden trellising and a neon sign led dinners along a verdant walkway leading to the main bar, rustic pathways offered access to a secluded seating area with stunning views, where a reflecting pool washed away the sounds of the city. Guests could relax in the meditation area or stock up in the marketplace selling premium Tulum goods.

We created an urban jungle sanctuary in the heart of NYC which quickly became the go-to spots for celebrities, artists, and musicians, the place to see and be seen. Gitano NYC was covered by media outlets including Vogue, Eater, The Infatuation, and the New York Times among others.
