With only 72 hours from the moment the USA won the Women’s World Cup to the start of the Ticker Tape Parade, productionglue was called upon by the Office of the Mayor of New York City to pull off the impossible – handling the pre-show, broadcast, and official key ceremony for the team, Mayor De Blasio, Robin Roberts, and other high-level attendees.

Now legends, the team, parade, and ceremony were met with huge acclaim and pride as thousands of fans followed the parade to City Hall for the official key ceremony. After Megan Rapinoe delivered a heartfelt speech, urging the crowd “to be better, to love more and hate less.
Listen more and talk less. It is our responsibility to make this world a better place.” Mayor De Blasio presented each team member with an official key to the city, to sonorous cheers. An immense display of US pride was on display and of course copious amounts of red, white, and blue confetti.

  • Provided technical direction and staging, talent wrangling,
    stage producing, and special effects
  • Six massive confetti cannons issuing over 90 lbs of confetti
  • The parade trended on social media with nearly 300,000 posts on Instagram and over 1,000 comments
