The women of productionglue share their industry insights and career advice.

What advice do you have for women pursuing a career in live events?

Know that you are enough and that you have a right to not only sit at the table, but to lead the conversation.

What three characteristics best describe a successful Senior Producer?

A senior producer is inspiring, tackles problems creatively, and has the ability to see the small details and the big picture at the same time.

Describe your proudest moment at productionglue. Why was it special?

I can’t choose just one moment, because luckily every event I work on offers a new opportunity to check that box. That said, working alongside such incredible and insanely talented people is high on the list.

What are three career lessons you’ve learned thus far?

  1. Accept the fear and rise to the challenge. You’re stronger/smarter/more capable than you know.
  2. Event production is a team sport.
  3. It’s OK to ask for help.

What are your hopes for our industry? Specifically, for women in live events.

The more inclusivity and diversity across all facets the better, and I’d like to see more women in leadership roles.

What do you enjoy most about being a Senior Producer?

It’s all about creating opportunities for eventgoers to connect and create lasting memories. For me, there is no greater compliment than people choosing to spend their precious time enjoying something I’ve produced. It’s a gift.

What does true leadership mean to you? How do you embody leadership?

True leadership is two things: 1) the ability to translate an idea/vision into reality and 2) empowering those around you. I strive to live by those ideals daily.
