The women of productionglue share their industry insights and career advice.

What advice do you have for women pursuing a career in live events?

Seat goals for yourself to work towards and make sure you’re surrounding yourself with both co-workers and friends who are supportive and encourage you to reach those goals.

What three characteristics best describe a successful Project Manager?

Organization

Attention to detail

Confidence

Describe your proudest moment at productionglue. Why was it special?

I remember the day I got my title promotion. It just felt really good knowing how hard I had worked towards that goal and finally getting there felt pretty sick. (Yes, I did call my Mom afterwards)

What are three career lessons you’ve learned thus far?

Don’t let people talk over you. And it’s ok to remind them that you’re not finished speaking.

Dress warm and bring layers. All venues are cold!!

Openness to learn & listen; it’s OK when you don’t know something

What are your hopes for our industry? Specifically, for women in live events.

That we’re given the opportunity to keep challenging ourselves and trying new things.

What do you enjoy most about being a Project Manager?

I enjoy working with people and collaborating with all the departments on an event and watching it all come together :]

What does true leadership mean to you? How do you embody leadership?

Listening to your co-workers, team, clients & vendors. It’s a collaboration so it’s important to hear their thoughts and opinions.
