The women of productionglue share their industry insights and career advice.

What advice do you have for women pursuing a career in live events?

Be fearless and persistent. Pre-conceived notions about what women ‘should be doing’ should have no significance on your goals. Ask questions and surround yourself with people who encourage your curiosity.

What three characteristics best describe a successful Producer?

Being able to listen and communicate clearly (both with clients and your team), Attention to detail, and Adaptability; our industry is very unpredictable and the ability to think on your feet is crucial.

Describe your proudest moment at productionglue. Why was it special?

Giving back to our community by leading multiple volunteer opportunities and donation drives through our glueGIVES initiative.

What are three career lessons you’ve learned thus far?

Trust your team, be prepared for rain, even when it’s sunny, and if you’re unsure of something it’s always OK to ask questions.

What are your hopes for our industry? Specifically, for women in live events.

I hope to see more diversity throughout all teams and positions, and ideally have more women in leadership roles.

What do you enjoy most about being a Producer?

That no two projects are ever the same; it never gets boring!

What does true leadership mean to you? How do you embody leadership?

A true leader encourages and empowers their teams by giving them the tools and information they need to succeed. When I am leading a team, I try to give everyone visibility to all aspects of the project and keep communication lines open.
