The women of productionglue share their industry insights and career advice.

What advice do you have for women pursuing a career in live events?

Trust your instincts, and never be afraid to ask questions or speak up with your ideas. Sharing knowledge and resources is key for personal & professional growth.

What three characteristics best describe a successful Project Coordinator?

A successful Project Coordinator is resourceful, adaptable, and tenacious in executing your goals.

Describe your proudest moment at productionglue. Why was it special?

Actually, this moment occurs on most shows I work on. It’s that moment while the event is live where I take a step back and realize everything myself and the team has accomplished to make this moment happen. It’s pretty incredible and that’s why I’m here.

What are three career lessons you’ve learned thus far?

  1. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and take on different roles. This is where you learn the most about yourself!
  2. Having the right attitude is a skill in itself.
  3. Surround yourself with people who inspire you.

What are your hopes for our industry? Specifically, for women in live events.

I hope the industry continues to find intelligent, qualified women in leadership positions regardless of age or race. Diversity of background produces cultivated thinking.

What do you enjoy most about being a Project Coordinator?

Managing moving parts and bringing them together to make something awesome! I love the controlled chaos that takes place between the blank space and the live experience.

What does true leadership mean to you? How do you embody leadership?

A true leader sets an example through responsibility and action, but also never stops learning. I never ask anyone to do something I wouldn’t do myself – I am as accountable to my team as I am to a client.
