2016 marked the culmination of University of Rochester’s most ambitious fundraising campaign to date, The Meliora Challenge. To honor and thank its top tier donors, the University hosted a high-end celebration dinner experience, building off of the excitement of the coinciding Meliora Weekend.
Guests were treated to a mixture of performances including a student Bhangra group, the Eastman Saxophone Project, a 10-person walking saxophone troupe that surprised the audience by playing through the dining area, and a 37-piece orchestra and chorus from the Eastman School of Music that performed a moving rendition of “What a Wonderful World” after a theatrical reveal. The night was capped off with all talent coming together on stage to perform the school’s alma mater to create a major closing moment.
Working closely with the faculty, students, and administration, productionglue assumed a wide range of responsibilities for the event, freeing up University staff to concentrate on other campus events during this premiere weekend in the University’s calendar. The seamless execution of the dinner led to great feedback from the donors and University personnel.
